La Maison is one of Albury-Wodonga's finest dining destinations. Established in 2007, we have built an excellent reputation for exceptional food and wine and warm hospitality. We are always open to meeting people who would like to join our team to help us deliver this service to our beloved clientele.

Our standards

Everyone in the La Maision team is expected to deliver a professional service, whether it's back or front of house. We expect that you will:

  • make an effort to engage our clientele to make a memorable experience for them
  • do everything in your specific role to a high standard
  • keep yourself, the restaurant and your specific workspace tidy and sanitary
  • help with general operations of the restaurant like opening, closing and cleaning
  • maintain the smooth work flow and respectful team we've developed.

  • flexible hours and days (full time not expected)
  • a two-day weekend every week (Sunday & Monday)
  • all public holidays off
  • Easter & Christmas holidays (we close the restaurant)
  • above-award wage for skilled and experienced staff, negotiated on an individual basis.

Positions

La Maison offers a mix of a la carte dining and large capape-style functions. Safe food handling techniques are essential in all roles.

Chefs

Our head chef is responsible for menu planning; food preparation and cooking; plating and presentation; maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies; training and supervising kitchen staff; and ensuring the kitchen, pantry and storage area are safe and sanitary at all times. Sous and commis chefs work in line with the head chef.

Kitchen staff

Our kitchen staff are involved with preliminary food preparation; dishwashing; and keeping the kitchen clean and clear for smooth workflow.

Wait staff

Our wait staff provide full table service with an emphasis on delivering a welcoming and attentive experience to create the homey vibe that our clientele (whom we call our guests) love about La Maison. Other duties include answering enquiries and calls; processing payments; and maintaining the cleanliness of all client-facing areas of the restaurant.

Bartender

We have an extensive wine list which our bartenders will be able to discuss with clientele, as well as standard drink service. Our bartenders also maintain and order bar inventory and supplies; ensure the bar is safe and sanitary at all times; process payments; and enforce the safe service of alcohol.
